A strong economy is the foundation for our livelihood. It also provides the resources for key government programs like education. In a global economy, we must compete not only with 49 other states, but 120 national economies.
I will support legislation that encourages growth and maintains a stable fiscal budget:
- I have filed legislation that provides a 3-year plan of tax rebates to new businesses that employ at least 50 people. I would expand that proposal to all businesses that hire 50 additional workers.
- I would support a tax reducation for all new small business entrepeneurships.
- I will support legislation that prevents businesses from using tax shelters by outsourcing their profits to foreign countries.
- I will oppose increasing the state income tax.
